I finished all three of these this afternoon. I suppose I just needed something lighthearted and fun. It was just a bonus that reading three of them upped my page count for the year. 🦄 💕✨

I am always charmed by these wonderful middle grade comics. Phoebe and Marigold are charming characters, and so many of the jokes make me smile. It was really fun having a volume-long cohesive story in this book! I also rather appreciated Phoebe‘s dad calling out everything I hate about Monopoly, and the quick glimpse of queer parents as very side characters (I don‘t recall if Max‘s moms were introduced before). #Unicorn #Comic #MiddleGrade #Humor
This one wasn‘t my favourite, but I did like how it was all one story line rather than lots of little comics. ☺️
I felt bad for the dragon though!
Summer lunches typically look like this. We did stop reading to talk to each other for a few minutes. 😃 #bookandlunch
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Volume 6 is the first official “Phoebe” graphic novel. The previous volumes are comic strip collections, and while those are still fun, this is my favorite thus far. It was fun getting the full story. Inclement weather takes out the electricity, internet, and *gasp* magic. Phoebe, friends, and frenemies go on a mystery-solving adventure. The “costuming interlude” is adorable. Such a fun story! Time to pass this one on to my niece. 🦄✨💜
I adored the first few books in the series, but this one fell a little short for me. The story line wasn‘t as great as the others and if this had been the first book I may not have looked for more. I do enjoy all the drawings and find humor in some of the conversations. I‘m hoping the next book will be back to a “pick”! 🙂
I really enjoyed that this was one cohesive story, and that we got to see a different side of Dakota. It wasn't perfect, and not as funny as the others, but still enjoyable. This however irritated me as I'm firmly on Team #BanBossy and feel that as a female writer she should've been too.
3.5⭐️again a meh book, surprisingly.
Catching up with Phoebe and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils! 🦄
This is what spring break planning looks like when no traveling is involved. We raided the library yesterday afternoon! 📚 📖 We selected so many they don‘t fit into the library basket we have at home. 😜😂

I discovered Phoebe and her unicorn 🦄 this year, and of all the books this is my favorite - the first story, the previous volumes have been based on individual stripes.

Talking to goblins. I can so relate, sometime this is how it feels like to take to others.
I would so do this if it was me 😀 Anyone else who would want to scream out that they're friends with a unicorn?
I absolutely loved this first comic story about Phoebe and Marigold. I hope Dana Simpson will write more of these stories.
Always exciting to borrow a new copy and be the first reader. 🦄😍
Love the Phoebe series. I know these are quick, but I just adore them all.
Aside from the slight weirdness of this being a story rather than somewhat connected slice of life comics - I LOVED THIS (except for the part where Monopoly was brutally savaged 😬). The beauty for me is in the small details, Phoebe's parents happiness with each other and the life they have built, the introduction of Max's Mums, the acknowledgment of friendship and the celebration of how it makes ones life sparkle. IT'S GOOD STUFF, BASICALLY!
Tink and I were very excited to open today‘s mail.
I love Phoebe's parents...
I have a lot of “serious” reading I have to do...but look what came in the mail! ***Sets aside all work and to-do-lists for #phoebeandherunicorn 😍
Nor I. 💖💖💖
The Magic Storm is the first OGN (rather than collection of web strips) in the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series. It is INSANELY ADORABLE. It puts a new spin on all those snow days we had as a kid....
Out in October!
Dana Simpson's not from Iowa (I checked), so I'm just going to pretend Phoebe and Marigold are in Tipton, Iowa 😂
3⭐️ I am normally a huge fan of Phoebe and her Unicorn. They make me laugh, and are rather enjoyable. This volume, not so much. A great storm is going through. And not only has it cut the power, it‘s cut the connection to magic for Unicorn and other magical creatures. The best part is the reason behind the storm and the inclusion of a new friend, and creature.
Getting through some graphic novels on Mount Review Pile tonight. This was delightful, as always.
ARC from NetGalley.
Evening reading. A graphic novel! ✨
