Peripeteia: The City Series, Book Two
Peripeteia: The City Series, Book Two | Sarah Lyons Fleming
4 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Months into the apocalypse, the zombies show no signs of dying, but it's clear everyone in Sunset Park will die without enough food to outlast the undead. Add in the less-than-sociable new neighbors only blocks away, and the hunt for sustenance has come to feel more like a race than a ramble. Sylvie is happy in her new home with the people who've become like family, though she's still working out how to let them into her heart. Eric wants in, and he wants to find his sister, but he can't do both at the same time. If he can do the second one at all-getting into the city was hard enough, getting out may prove impossible. Despite setbacks-and a couple million zombies-it seems fortune is working in their favor. After all, food, security, and family are extraordinary when just being alive is a notable accomplishment. But fortune can turn on a dime, and all it takes is one misstep.

Second book in the zombie apocalypse series by Sarah Lyons Fleming! It's a chunky 552 page sequel to Mordacious. This is a pretty fantastic book. I like the way Fleming writes her characters, they show humor and resilience. The characters develop and grow as they figure out a way to survive in their new reality. The ending was hard to handle. I want to know what happens in book three, but I think I'll put off starting it for a while to recuperate.

I forgot to post my #yearinreview from my #goodreads reading challenge. I was no where near where I wanted to be this year but it has been quite the year and I'm happy with the small amount I got done. I'm hoping this next year is better however! #goodreadschallenge

JoScho Any reading is good reading I say! 5y

I said this once and I will say it again, zombies are really not my thing but I love this post-apocalypse series. I'm pretty sure I spent the last 10% either bawling or wanting to kill some of the characters. I can't wait for the 3rd in the series. #zombies #postapocalypse #kindle

Got the 2nd one in this series with my #audible credit because I enjoyed the 1st one so much. However, they changed with way they do narration from the last book and I already hate it😟. I don't how I'm going to get through 19 hours of this😢 #audiobook

ReadingRover That‘s the worst. If you really hate it then don‘t hesitate to return it. You will get a credit back and they won‘t remove it from your library. You can still listen to it later if you like and also get something you will really enjoy. 😉 6y
tracy.anne8 @ReadingRover Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize it would stay in there if I returned it. I think I'll do that! 6y
ReadingRover @tracy_anne8 Me either. It took me forever to realize it. Thank god I did because I just couldn‘t take listening to the audio version of A Secret History for over 19 hrs. I couldn‘t take the author as the narrator. Hopefully I‘ll suck it up and read the print version one day! I hope you get something really fun next! (edited) 6y
tracy.anne8 @ReadingRover I think I will end up reading the book on this one. I want to know what happens but can't take the narration. Hopefully you will enjoy A Secret History in book form. I haven't read it yet but it's on my list. Thanks again for the tip😊 6y
