One of the reasons I went to college in the south was due to my fascination with southern architecture. I lost the first copy I had of this book and finally found this copy in a second hand book shop in New Orleans. The old black and white photos are poignant and haunting.

I have had this book for many, many years. I have always had a fascination with the south and I found this book in a dusty, secondhand bookstore in the French Quarter. The photos are creepy and haunting, mostly about abandoned plantations and graves. It was originally published in 1948 and many of the buildings in the book are long gone. #ghastlyghosts #hallowreads
