So exciting - my first time joining the #LMPBC !

@TheAromaofBooks created Group L for “happy fiction” - such as Wodehouse, Heyer, etc. - some of my favorites! 🎉

The tough part will be narrowing down my “possibles” stack 🤣

TheAromaofBooks Same!!! I have soooo many good ones!!! 2y
Chrissyreadit What a great idea!!! 2y
mabell @TheAromaofBooks I‘m so glad you thought of it! 2y

mabell Yay @Chrissyreadit !! So glad you‘re joining us! 2y
Chrissyreadit Oh- are there a few Heyer books neither of you have read? @TheAromaofBooks @mabell ? I will probably order a book because I think I‘ve read all the ones I have. I have not read any Wodehouse. 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit There are lots I haven‘t read! But I don‘t think it‘s limited to Heyer or Wodehouse, so if you have others that would be happy 😄 - that‘s fine with me! 2y
Chrissyreadit Ok- but I do love her! Have either of you read Venetia or The Grand Sophie? Just thinking ahead…. 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Chrissyreadit - YAY!! I'm always happy to read with you!!! I think I may have read The Grand Sophy, but definitely back in the mists of time! 😂 And I don't think I've read a single Heyer that I wouldn't be happy to reread, so there's that. I'm planning to choose a Wodehouse and I'm excited to introduce you to him!! His books can be a little madcap but are just so fun and happy. 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit I haven‘t read either one! (Though I have a lovely copy of The Grand Sophy I‘m looking forward to reading 🥰) 2y
Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks @mabell since both of you have a connection to The Grand Sophy I May order the other one, and hope our 4th person has not read it. But either way I will have a new Heyer. I‘m so glad you introduced me to her Elizabeth. 2y
Chrissyreadit I ordered Frederica too- have either of you read that one? Honestly they all sound so good to me. 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit No I haven‘t read that one yet 😊 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Chrissyreadit - I have read that one, but it's been several years and I remember thoroughly enjoying it, so I am totally down for a reread!! 2y
Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks have you read Venetia? 2y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell @Chrissyreadit - Woohoo!! We have our fourth member!!! Glad to have you join us @julieclair !!! Here is some of the discussion we've been having about our possible books!! Also, Chrissy, I just realized I never answered your question 😅 I have NOT read Venetia yet!! 2y
Chrissyreadit @julieclair welcome! Have you read Venetia by Heyer? If not that will be my pick. 2y
julieclair @TheAromaofBooks , @mabell , @Chrissyreadit I‘m so excited to join this group! Thanks for pulling me in to this discussion. Believe it or not, I have never read ANY Georgette Heyer books. 🫣 So yes, Venetia is just fine with me. 😀 I have read (and loved) several of Wodehouse‘s Jeeves books, but have never read any of his other works. 2y
julieclair Have y'all read any of these already? Thoughts or preferences? 2y
TheAromaofBooks @julieclair - These all sound fantastic!!! I have read An Accomplished Woman but it has been several years and I quite enjoyed it, although not as much as another novel by Morgan that I keep meaning to reread. I would be happy with any of your choices!! 2y
mabell Great to have you join us @julieclair ! This is going to be a fun group! 😄 I love your choices! I‘ve been wanting to read Diary of a Provincial Lady, so I‘m leaning toward that one. But any you suggested would be perfect! 2y
mabell @Chrissyreadit Venetia sounds good to me! 2y
Chrissyreadit @julieclair I love your choices! And have not read any- I will go with whatever all of you choose. I‘m really looking forward to this ❤️ 2y
julieclair This group will be so much fun! I think I will go with 2y
julieclair It was my first choice, and since @mabell has been wanting to read it and @Chrissyreadit and @TheAromaofBooks have not read it, it was an easy decision! 📗🤔😀 2y
Chrissyreadit 🙌❤️🙌 @julieclair 2y
TheAromaofBooks @julieclair - Sounds fabulous!!! 2y
mabell @julieclair Perfect! 😄 2y

📚I visited a new to me used bookstore yesterday. I'm rearranging shelf space today for the #bookhaul. My Folio John Donne was an unexpected find for a price I couldn't pass up.

LeahBergen Awesome haul! And there's the Thirkell. 👍🏻 7y
elkeOriginal Well done!! 7y

Jess_Read_This @LeahBergen @elkeo Thank you!! It was a hard shop to hold back in. He had two entire floor to ceiling bookshelves of Easton Press and Franklin Library editions. Then a separate shelf of just signed first edition mysteries. Then his glass case of the "special" ones. Folios and Heritage Press had their own shelves too. 7y
Jess_Read_This @rubyslippersreads I squeaked when I saw it in its green Penguin form! 7y
merelybookish Wow! Great stuff. 7y
Jess_Read_This @merelybookish Thanks! It was hard to hold back on buying more! 7y
EvieBee Lovely! What a deal! After reading 84 Charing Cross, John Donne fascinated me. (edited) 7y
Jess_Read_This @EvieBee Another strong reason I need to read 84 Charing Cross! I've been a fan of certain love poems of his. This one has more of his essays and letters in it which seem fascinating just from my brief loll through. 7y
batsy Such great finds. I love some of Donne's poems and adore Daughter of Time, how lucky to find the green Penguin version! And yay, more Wodehouse! 7y
Jess_Read_This @batsy I'm still kind of shocked over the Tey in a green Penguin! I had no idea it was published in that format. I'm becoming such a Wodehouse fan... 7y
kspenmoll Sounds like a fabulous bookstore with great finds for you! Decisions must be hard! 📚 7y
