Born February 3rd ,1874. Probably everyone knows her quote “There is no there there.” about the town she was raised in , Oakland ,Ca.Some see it as a put down , yet what it really reflected is so much had changed since she lived there.On her lecture tour to the U.S in the 30‘s, she went to see her family‘s farm & home,it was demolished & the land developed .My favorite quote of hers may be “America is my country and Paris is my hometown.”
