Pizza Camp is the ultimate guide to achieving pizza nirvana at home, from the chef who is making what Bon Appetit magazine calls the best pizza in America. Joe Beddias pizza is old schoolits all about the dough, the sauce, and the cheese. Open-faced quesadilla topped with greens, avocado, tomato, and radish for lunch! We are having people over Saturday and making pizzas from this new and delicious book. It's GLORIOUS. I'll be trying my hand at homemade pizza dough... nervous!

What's your go-to meal for company??

Notafraidofwords I'm Puerto Rican, so it's usually empanadas before the meal. We call them pastelillos! 7y

mklong My place is pretty small so there is no big dining room table. I just make a ton of different appetizers and we all graze all night. 7y
ApoptyGina69 We all work in the restaurant biz, so when we get together (cooks & bartenders mostly; sometimes servers) it's simple stuff: tri-tip on the grill, sautéed mushrooms, bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, and cocktails abound! 7y
ApoptyGina69 I've been making a pretty simple pizza/focaccia dough lately: 3 c warm water, 2T yeast, 1/2 c olive oil, 1 T sugar. Let it proof and add to 2 lbs flour (1/2 wheat, 1/2 white) and 2 T salt. Add more flour if it's sticky as you mix. Mix/knead a good 20 mins. Turn out to oiled pan w/dusting of cornmeal if you like; rest 20 mins; press down, top & bake! I like to add herb mix & garlic to the dough sometimes, dep on toppings. 7y
readinginthedark When my sister visits, we usually make some sort of stir fry or something on the stovetop, plus we pop and season some popcorn, and pair them with ice cream. Otherwise, I don't really have people over long enough to eat, unless it's an order pizza movie marathon. Not much of a hostess. 7y
