It was cool to read an Australian trans story, especially having seen Nevo speak twice at panels on their activism.

While there‘s never a “bad” time to learn and to empathise, the current moment seems particularly good for it. Reading Finding Nevo re-enforced for me the importance of amplifying #ownvoices non-fiction, as well as fictional depictions of diverse characters. I really admire Nevo‘s generosity in sharing their experience. Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/finding-nevo-nevo-zisin/ #Memoir #NonFiction
So many things stood out for me in this book. I‘ll post a few. @MrsMalaprop
I just love this next wave of young people and feminists .
I finished this a week ago. Excellent read. Gave me lots to think about especially with regards to gender. So many expectations from society of what makes a woman and what makes a man. With regards to how we are suppose to present as eachgender there is lots to think about in this book. Myself a tall woman with short hair, bushy eyebrows, jeans and shirts and little or no makeup or jewellery I‘m often mistaken for a man in Asian countries.
Excited for this one. Finding Nevo is being released on May 1 by Walker Books
