"Introducing Genetics" takes readers on a journey through this new science to the discovery of DNA and the heart of the human gene map. In everyday life, many of us increasingly have to make moral decisions where genetics plays a part. This book gives us the information to do so.

Visiting NYC this week we stayed a few days we stayed a few days at my younger daughter‘s. While perusing her bookshelves I came across her bound copy of her Ph.D thesis.

saresmoore This looks a lot like my mom‘s results! I haven‘t done it yet, but I want to. 7y
maximoffs @Wbabdullah I am obsessed with it and apparently Asian/Native American? @DarcysMom 23andMe ! @saresmoore I am so excited to finally have the results 7y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Woah! 😂 Yes, you are! Me too - can't help that! 🤷‍♀️ 7y
Wbabdullah Nice @steverogers! I definitely have to do this! Did you use ancestry.com? Did u find a long-lost family member? 7y
maximoffs @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled 😂😂😂 @Wbabdullah Nope i did 23 and me and I haven‘t fully explored everything yet! 7y
Wbabdullah Oh I see 23andme is the service you used!! Nevermind ! 7y
Laalaleighh I‘m mostly Scottish and British. I feel ya. 7y
BookNAround I am too. Not one interesting and unknown thing in my background at all. Was a bit of a disappointment, actually. 7y
maximoffs @BookNAround I found out that I‘m part of haplogroup T which is super super cool! 7y
BookwormAHN I did Ancestery DNA. I'm mostly Irish and Swedish. Also really white. 7y
OrangeMooseReads I want to do one of these so bad 7y
Leniverse I'm tempted to do one of these, as I have a blood type that's quite rare (8%) where I'm from, and most common in India and Japan, which I can't make sense of. 😂 But I'm also a bit paranoid, especially the way the political climate is turning, about there being big files of people's genetic background. 😒 7y
eri.reads Gosh, mine is all over the place! Africa, Ireland, Western Europe, a bit of France, a smidgen of Greece... I'll have to post one day. 7y
Sweettartlaura You can run your results through gedmatch.com for free - I found more specifics there. And if you're really brave, you can do Promethease.com for $5 - that gives you genetic info specific to you - like, you have the gene for this, you are likely to have this condition, and what meds won't work for you. It's interesting. But when you first look at it, you think you're going to die of EVERYTHING ... tomorrow 🤣 So keep that in mind if you do it. 7y

Mehso-so

A bit simplistic to be an avid read but a good children's introduction to genetics. Bit of a strange picture book / comic #marchintoreading
