These are all likable books with good stories and developing characters. I like the main character more each book and enjoy reading the stories. This story was based on true events that happened in Idaho, which makes it more intriguing in some ways. I think there are 21 right now and I think this was number 13. I will keep on reading.

WOW. This is another taken-from-the-headlines story in the Joe Pickett series. Based on a real-life case in Idaho where the federal government declared a family‘s property to be wetlands and then took it away. The way things unfolded in the story built up to an explosive ending and it is still very true that no one writes mystery thrillers quite like CJ Box. I read many parts with a white-knuckled grip.

I love this series so much.

The mystery is quite good. Lots of violence and corruption.

Trying to make a reading quiz for this book. I really enjoyed his first books but not the more recent ones. I don't really like the way he writes women...no one else has mentioned this so perhaps it is just me.
