A sweet ending to the series. Lady Jane began uninterestingly but she grew on me, & her friendship w/Frances was cute as it developed. I also enjoyed the relationship. With Lady Jane & the Comte both approaching it slowly & warily, I felt like the story gave them a good amount of time & space. My one complaint is that there wasn't enough of the poor relations themselves, but the way their stories wrap up is heartwarming & charming. I'll miss them!

I saw a fellow Litten‘s review of one of these books, and my interest was piqued. I‘m not much of a romance reader, but these books set in Regency England were light, fun reads. The audiobooks read by Davina Porter were really excellent and most entertaining! If you‘re in a reading slump, I‘m betting these will get you out of it tout suite. When I finished the last book, I realized that I had read them all within one month. 😳👍🏽

LeslieO I love the covers! 6y
PurpleyPumpkin @LeslieO In creating this post, realized that there are quite a few different covers for this series. But these are my favourites. 💜 6y
AlaMich Aren‘t they great? They‘re just the thing when you want something fluffy and entertaining. And I agree that Porter reads them so well! 6y

PurpleyPumpkin @AlaMich They were so much fun! I have to admit that when I read they were romance novels, I cringed a bit. But they were that and more. Porter‘s narrative was the icing on the cake. 6y
AlaMich @PurpleyPumpkin Marion Chesney (aka M. C. Beaton) has written a boatload of Regency series that are super similar to this one: House for the Season, The Six Sisters, The School for Manners, The Travelling Matchmaker (remember, these are series, not individual books!) 6y
PurpleyPumpkin Wow, I knew she had written other series, but I didn‘t realize she wrote THAT many! Thanks for letting me know @AlaMich. I will definitely check them out. 👍🏽😉 6y
UwannaPublishme These covers are just stunning! I don't do much romance reading myself, but these sound too good to pass up. Glad to see you here. Hope you're doing great! 🤗📚 6y

I just finished the poor relations series and it was great cosy fun. The last book is not my favorite because it has less of the antics of the poor relations themselves but it is a satisfying end to the series. The audiobook narrator is really good
