Me daba dolor de barriga verle a los quince años y verla ahora en aquel estado. La vida la había tratado, vaya. A veces me miro al espejo e intento imaginar como seré cuando la vida me haya tratado.
Muchas veces me había dicho bromeando que la vida no se divertía demasiado con ella y ahora se veía. Le dolía todo.
La señora Rosa dice que la vida puede ser muy hermosa, pero que nadie ha dado con ella todavía y que mientras esperamos hay que vivir.
Me gustaría ir muy lejos, a un lugar lleno de otra cosa, y ni siquiera trato de imaginarlo para no echarlo a perder. Podríamos conservar el sol, los payasos y los perros, que son lo mejor que hay en su género. Lo demás tendría que ser distinto a todo y dispuesto específicamente para ello. Pero luego pienso que al final todo acabaría por ser igual. A veces resulta hasta gracioso ver hasta qué punto se esfuerzan las cosas por ser lo que son.
' Mí querido y venerado padre', y luego el berrinche. Y es que tenía dentro cosas maravillosas que no podían expresarse y se quedaban en su corazón, no disponía de medios, así que a cada palabra tenía que echar mano del oro y de los diamantes.
El perfume era lo que la señora Rosa prefería que le regalaran y tenía frascos y más frascos, pero nunca supe por qué se lo ponía sobre todo detrás de las orejas, como el perejil en los terneros.
Siempre estaba acariciando se el bigote con el dedo, como si quisiera ser cariñoso con él.
Le dijeron que te llamabas Mohamed y que eras musulmán, y desde entonces el autor de tus días no ha vuelto a dar señales de vida.... Hay que pensar que tu padre murió durante la guerra de Argelia, que es algo hermoso y grande y que es un héroe... Yo hubiera preferido tener un padre que tener un héroe.
pick10 yr old Momo lives in Belleville, a Parisian suburb, with Madame Rosa. His parents left him there many yr ago against payment. Madam Rosa is an old Jewish former prostitute who takes in children to care for against money.
Madam Rosa was sent to one of the concentration camps during WWII and one of the most impactful parts of this book for med is his this has effected her.

I am really enjoying my stay in #France. Momo and Madame Rosa are introducing me to their whole neighbourhood in Belleville, and there truly are some eccentric people here. Momo is such a lovely little boy. I have a feeling this just might be my favourite stay so far for my #BackpackEurope trip.
After really taking my time in Germany, I decided it was finally time to move on. On my way to Paris and #France as we speak, yay!! Really looking forward to exploring the rural parts of Paris with Madame Rosa and Momo, I think it will be a memorable stay.
